At a German shipyard, the construction of the world's biggest cruise ship was halted. Although the ship was originally intended to be used by an Asian cruise line company, its fate is uncertain. The ship will now be scrapped for its metal, as well as any installed systems and engines.

Global Dream 2 is not being scrapped

The lower hull on the MV Global Dream II has been scheduled for scrapping, but the ship isn't going anywhere. The ship has almost 80 percent completion and can now towed with ocean-going tugboats. Although the ship was designed for Asia service, it is currently not in use for that purpose. Administrators of the shipyard hope to sell off its machine and engine parts to recoup costs. If they cannot find a buyer for the Global Dream, it will be scrapped.

The Global Dream II sister ship to the Global Dream I is called the Global Dream II. It is 80% completed and aimed at Asian travelers. It would have the largest theme park on a cruise ship and the longest roller coaster in the world. It would also have weighed over 200,000 tonnes making it the fifth largest cruise-ship volume.

Fred Olsen’s Black Watch is in doubt, as well as Boudicca by Fred Olsen

Fred Olsen has to make tough decisions about two of its flagship cruise ship ships. The Black Watch was introduced in 1972 as the Royal Viking Line's flagship ships. They have proven to be a very useful addition to the company. They are no longer in service and a replacement is needed.

After the sale of Fred Olsen’s Black Watch and its sister ship Boudicca, the fates of the two vessels are unknown. Both ships are old and were built in the early 1970s for the Royal Viking Line, and later served as vessels for Norwegian Cruise Line, Star Cruises and Princess Cruises. The Black Watch was initially called the Westward, and it was sailed for a while as such.

Royal Caribbean cruise ship Sovereign of the Seas

When the Sovereign of the Seas set sail in 1988, she was one of the largest cruise ships on the planet. The ship could accommodate 2,850 passengers. It was also equipped with multiple dining and shopping areas. The ship received major refits over the years and was finally transferred by Pullmantur. The company did not announce that it would be scrapping the ship until 2007.

How To

How to avoid being seasick while on a cruise

You can avoid seasickness by wearing a cap while on cruise. Wide-brimmed caps prevent motion sickness and keep the head from moving too often.

The hat keeps water from the face and reduces the moisture in the air. This makes it easier to breathe for those who experience dizziness when inhaled moist air.

Another tip is that you should drink lots of fluids. Avoid alcohol or caffeine. These drinks dehydrate the body causing more fluid to move around in the stomach. Salt levels can be decreased by drinking enough liquids. Salt causes the body's retention of water, which can lead to nausea.

You may feel nauseated if you eat something salty. Salty foods make the stomach produce more hydrochloric Acid, which is helpful in breaking down food particles.

These are just some of the possible ways to reduce seasickness. Be aware that some medications may have side effects such as drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and headaches.
